‘47

My time at ‘47 began as a lifestyle product coordinator, due to my involvement in the Music, Sneaker, and Streetwear scene in Massachusetts. I was quickly promoted to the only Assistant product Line Manager at the company, supporting Men’s and Women’s Headwear and Apparel, as well as Resort, Special Projects, Marketing Inatiatives, and my favorite: Collaborations. Would bring products through their entire lifecycle, from creation, to working with sourcing, Pre-Ordering sample lines, and aiding in B2b Email Marketing. Below are some of my favorite projects!

One of the most successful collaborations in ‘47’s history was the project with Carhartt. What began with just Boston and Detroit gear, made with Carhartt’s famous fabric, went on to encompass the entire MLB lineup. Pushing this project to the finish line was a crazy experience, from deciding on final designs to recounting product at the warehouse. A project I’ll always be super proud of! The collaboration has gone on to include both NFL and NHL original Six teams after I departed.

An amazing opportunity with Diamond Supply Co came about through several meetings that started at the Agenda trade show. I was happy to work on a project that perfectly mixed ‘47’s licensed product, with the famous logo and colorway of an incredibly influential skate brand. This was the last big collaboration project I worked on, and I think it was a perfect ending to the work I did to expand the lifestyle offerings at ‘47.

The Global Artist Project was one of the most ambitious projects I have ever been a part of. It sought to let internationally famed artists rework some of the MLB and NBA’s most prestigious franchise logos and marks. Even at a time where licensed lifestyle product was not as popular with the league’s licensing offices (and modifying the logo had always been off-limits), we were able to convince them to let us move forward with the project. The project included some amazing recreations from Ron English, Pez, McBess, Kashink, Kevin Lyons, and many more!

Our collaboration with Pintrill was a fun take on regional product, that also incorporated custom pins, at a time where Pin companies were popping up left and right due to the popularity of the sector. This project was one of the first non-licensed product groups that were released by ‘47, and have now become a staple (with hats for any holiday or season you can think of).

The Super Bowl 50 Collection provided an opportunity to collaborate with two Bay-Area Bred Streetwear brands: Black Scale and Benny Gold. The collection allowed them to infuse their brand DNA with the flair of their hometown teams of the 49’ers and Raiders. This was one of the first lifestyle projects I worked on, and it will always hold a special place in my heart (as Benny Gold closed their storefront a few years after the project released).

The final special project I had the pleasure of working on was a collaboration with the renowned San Francisco based skateboarding magazine, Thrasher. So much passion went into continuing to push this project through, even as we to delay release dates because of licensing back-and-forth. This project really allowed me to marry one of my passions outside of work, with sports product. This was one of the best lifestyle plays we ever made.
